A dream finally realized

I will be working in Denali National Park in a gift shop from May 17th until September 14th. The gift shop is in the Denali Bluffs Hotel.

Jane and my dog, Coallie and cat, Oliver joined me on the 14 day drive from Sonora in a 1990 Bounder (34 foot) pulling my car with bikes on the back. Since I had not driven the RV before it was a challenge, especially in gas stations and in parking lots which we avoided as much as possible.

When we first arrived at Denali and I checked in with my employer, we moved into the McKinley RV park in Healy which is about 10 miles from the hotel where I work. We stayed there a few days, but there were no sewer hookups and the water was off for some construction. When the lady told us it would be days before the water was back on we moved to the Denali Rainbow RV Park. It is very ugly, crowded and basically a parking lot. At least it is within walking distance of work and Denali National Park is just a few miles away.

Jane took the 8 hour train trip to Anchorage on May 21st and then flew back to Denver. She will return in September for the trip back.
